A jet transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The jet landed based on standard protocol and all individuals on the flight, including Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer stated in a online announcement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This event isn't the first time that a US military aircraft carrying a high-ranking official has experienced mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to turn back to the US capital after experiencing a technical issue.
